Background on the Covid Case

A 67-year-old Oklahoma City woman has been convicted of misusing federal COVID relief funds that were meant to help feed low-income children during the pandemic.

Priscilla Orange, the owner of Rainbow Connections Child Care and Learning Centers, faced accusations of diverting funds away from their intended purpose.

Jury Findings

According to prosecutors, Orange stole around $500,000 from the federal program. Instead of providing meals to children in need, the money was spent at casinos and on personal expenses.

Potential Sentencing

Orange now faces up to 25 years in federal prison and fines of up to $750,000. Sentencing will take place at a later date.
