The Tulsa National Little League team is back in the Southwest Region Championship after a Texas judge temporarily blocked the team's disqualification just hours after Little League International removed the Oklahoma team from the tournament.

The ruling allows Tulsa National Little League to compete Tuesday evening in the 2026 Little League Baseball Southwest Region Championship in Waco, Texas. The winner will advance to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The legal battle follows a dispute over tournament eligibility that briefly erased Tulsa's regional semifinal victory.

Tulsa National Little League Returns To Championship Game

The controversy began Monday when Little League International announced Tulsa National had been disqualified from the Southwest Regional Tournament approximately one hour before the scheduled championship game.

The organization also ruled that Tulsa's 3-2 victory over Louisiana on Sunday would be recorded as a forfeit.

Questions surrounding the team's eligibility were raised after three participating leagues requested a review into whether Tulsa National operated its 2026 baseball program in compliance with Little League regulations governing player eligibility, league operations and tournament participation.

Parents and players immediately sought emergency legal relief in Texas.

Hours later, 414th District Court Judge Ryan Luna granted a temporary restraining order allowing Tulsa National to remain in the tournament while the legal dispute continues.

Tournament information and eligibility regulations are maintained by Little League International, which oversees regional tournaments and the annual Little League World Series.

Legal Challenge Sends Team Back Onto The Field

Judge Luna ordered the championship game to proceed as originally scheduled Tuesday evening.

"The winner of the game will be determined on the field where it should be decided," the court order stated.

The temporary restraining order effectively restored Tulsa National's opportunity to compete for the Southwest Region championship despite the earlier disqualification.

Court filings indicate the eligibility review involved questions surrounding Little League Regulation II(a)(1) involving player eligibility, Regulation VI(k) concerning pitching limitations and Rule 4.10(c)(2) related to completion of games.

Championship Still Determines Williamsport Berth

Despite the legal challenge, the path to the Little League World Series remains unchanged.
