Oklahoma School Survey Shows Strong Public Engagement
The Oklahoma State Board of Education has received an update on a major Oklahoma School Survey designed to gather feedback on how schools across the state can improve. The online poll, open for the past month, drew responses from more than 10,000 educators, parents, and community members.
In addition to survey responses, participants submitted at least 100,000 written comments, offering detailed suggestions on curriculum, classroom resources, and student support.

What the Board Learned So Far
Superintendent Lindel Fields shared preliminary findings with board members, saying the volume of participation reflects strong public interest in education reform. Officials emphasized that the feedback will help guide discussions on potential policy changes.
While full results have not yet been released, education leaders say the data highlights recurring concerns about classroom conditions, academic expectations, and teacher support.
Next Steps in the Review Process
The Board is expected to continue reviewing the feedback ahead of its next scheduled meeting on January 22, when additional details may be made public. Radio Oklahoma News plans to share more information once the Board formally discusses the findings.
Officials say the poll represents one of the most extensive recent efforts to gather public input on education policy statewide.
