Air Force Crash Victims Include OSU Graduate
An Air Force crash has claimed the lives of six service members, including one with ties to Oklahoma.
Major John “Alex” Klinner, 33, was among those killed when a KC-135 Stratotanker crash occurred March 12 in western Iraq, according to U.S. Central Command.
Air Force Crash Details Released
In the Air Force crash, officials say the aircraft went down in friendly airspace while supporting Operation Epic Fury.
Military leaders confirmed the incident did not involve hostile or friendly fire, and another aircraft involved landed safely.
Klinner was assigned to the 6th Air Refueling Wing at MacDill Air Force Base, according to the U.S. Air Force.
Victims Remembered
The Air Force crash victim had recently earned his MBA from Oklahoma State University Spears School of Business in December 2025.
An eight-year veteran, Klinner had just been promoted to Major and was less than a week into his deployment.
He is survived by his wife and three young children.
Officials say the investigation into the crash remains ongoing, according to the U.S. Department of Defense.
