US Air Force Band of the West Brings Free Performances to Oklahoma City Metro

The US Air Force Band of the West is bringing its high-energy rock ensemble to the Oklahoma City metro this September, with performances scheduled at the Oklahoma State Fair and a special Freedom 250 concert in Moore.

The professional Airmen-musicians will perform in Oklahoma City on September 17 and September 19, with a free community concert in Moore on September 18. The appearances are part of the band's mission to connect the Air Force with communities through live music and public outreach.

US Air Force Band of the West Performs at Oklahoma State Fair

The US Air Force Band of the West Rock Band will make two appearances during the opening weekend of the 2026 Oklahoma State Fair, which runs September 17 through September 27 at OKC Fair Park.

The performances are scheduled for September 17 and September 19. The Air Force's official events calendar lists the September 19 performance for 4:30 p.m. at the fairgrounds.

The concerts are included with paid general admission to the State Fair, meaning fairgoers do not need to purchase an additional concert ticket.

Visitors should plan to arrive early because seating for entertainment-stage performances is open and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The State Fair performances give Oklahomans an opportunity to hear professional active-duty Air Force musicians performing contemporary music in a setting designed to connect military members directly with civilian communities.

Free Freedom 250 Concert Planned in Moore September 18

Between its Oklahoma City appearances, the band will travel to Moore for a special Freedom 250 Concert on Friday, September 18.

The performance is scheduled for 7 p.m. at The Station at Central Park Amphitheater and will help the Moore community celebrate the 79th birthday of the United States Air Force. Unlike the State Fair appearances, the Moore performance is free and open to the public.

The concert also comes during the nationwide Freedom 250 celebration recognizing the 250th anniversary of American independence.

The band's Oklahoma performances are part of a much larger community outreach mission. The United States Air Force Band of the West is based at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas, and performs throughout Oklahoma and other southern states.

The organization includes multiple ensembles capable of performing everything from military marches and classical works to jazz, country, R&B, rock and contemporary pop music.

Air Force Musicians Use Music to Connect With Communities

Members of the Band of the West are active-duty Airmen and professional musicians who represent the United States Air Force through military ceremonies, recruiting events, educational programs and public performances.

The organization travels more than 125,000 miles annually and provides hundreds of performances for military and civilian audiences across its region.
