Jury Finds Tulsa Man Guilty of Wife’s Murder
A Tulsa County jury found Chris Morland guilty of murdering his wife and concealing her body along Highway 412.
Prosecutors said Morland beat Cassidy Ritchie to death just weeks after their wedding in 2024. He then hid her body in the trunk of her car.
Troubled Past Revealed
Investigators discovered Morland’s violent criminal history. He previously served 18 years in California for murder and faced arrests in Texas in 2019 for assault and illegal firearm possession.
During closing arguments, prosecutors described him as “a predator who could not be reformed.” The defense claimed the killing was not premeditated but failed to sway jurors.
Justice for the Victim
Family members said they were relieved by the verdict. Ritchie’s mother told reporters, “Cassidy finally has justice. We’ve waited a long time to hear that word — guilty.”
Morland will be sentenced later this month and faces life imprisonment without parole.
