Presti Reflects on Championship, Turns Toward Future
Thunder GM Sam Presti addressed reporters this week, saying the organization must quickly pivot from celebrating last year’s championship season to focusing on long-term growth. Presti emphasized that while the trophy is historic, the challenge is sustaining success year after year.
Oklahoma City Thunder’s “Big 3” Return for 2025 Season
Presti confirmed the Thunder’s core trio — MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Chet Holmgren, and Jalen Williams — are committed with long-term contracts. He called their buy-in a “rare opportunity” for a small-market team, adding that stability will allow the Thunder to keep building around them.
The season opener is October 21 against the Houston Rockets, and anticipation is already high among fans. Season ticket demand has surged, and analysts have the Thunder ranked as one of the favorites to return to the playoffs.

Presti on Development and the Road Ahead
Presti stressed that while fans dream of another title run, the organization must keep investing in player development and smart roster decisions. “Our focus has to be on the process — getting better every day,” Presti said. “If we do that, the results will follow.”
He also praised the team’s younger bench players, saying they’ll have opportunities to step up this season and provide depth during the grueling NBA schedule.
