Things to Do in Oklahoma This Weekend: Rocklahoma, Rodeos, The Outsiders and Live Music

From Rocklahoma in Pryor and the 100th Rodeo Miami to Broadway in Oklahoma City and live music across the state, Oklahomans have plenty of options for the final weekend of August.

The August 28-30 weekend brings major concerts, rodeos, cultural celebrations, theater and family-friendly events to communities across Oklahoma. Whether you want Slipknot, Red Dirt country, Broadway or a night at the rodeo, here are some of the biggest things to do in Oklahoma this weekend.

Things to Do in Oklahoma This Weekend Include Rocklahoma and Major Concerts

Rocklahoma returns to the Pryor Creek Music Festival Grounds for three days of rock music through Sunday. This year's lineup includes major acts such as Turnstile, Slipknot and Alice Cooper, making Pryor one of Oklahoma's biggest entertainment destinations of the weekend.

Stillwater gets a dose of Red Dirt Friday night when Jason Boland & The Stragglers perform at the Tumbleweed Dancehall & Concert Venue.

In Tulsa, Don McLean brings one of popular music's most recognizable catalogs to the Mabee Center Friday night. The Grammy Award honoree behind “American Pie” is scheduled to perform at 7:30 p.m.

Country fans can head to Norman, where Diamond Rio performs Friday at 8 p.m. at Riverwind Casino.

There are plenty of smaller live music options, too. Mud Buckle performs Friday at Legends Pubhouse & Venue in Chickasha, while Chris Kizzia plays a free show at The Lodge on Main in Broken Arrow. The OWG Duo performs at Abendigo's Grill & Patio in Hochatown, and Blake Hall takes the stage at Oklahoma's Listening Room in Cushing.

Rodeo Miami and Stephens County Fair Bring Rodeo Action

One of Oklahoma's longest-running rodeo traditions reaches a major milestone this weekend with the 100th annual Rodeo Miami.

Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Miami Fairgrounds, with traditional events including bronc riding, calf roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing and bull riding. The event features $27,000 in added prize money.

The American Cowboys Rodeo Association lists Rodeo Miami among its sanctioned events for the weekend.

Friday is Kids Night, while Saturday includes the rodeo's Tough Enough to Wear Pink campaign.

Farther south, the Stephens County Fair Rodeo brings another night of Oklahoma rodeo action to Duncan. The Friday event at the Stephens County Fair Grounds begins at 6 p.m. with bull riding, broncs, roping and other traditional rodeo events.

For something completely different, UTSAV India Fest takes over the Rhema Ninowski Recreation Center in Broken Arrow Saturday with a community celebration showcasing Indian culture, food and entertainment.

The Outsiders and MiracleCon Highlight Oklahoma City Metro Weekend

The Oklahoma City metro also has several major options for families and entertainment fans.

This is the final weekend to see The Outsiders at the Civic Center Music Hall in downtown Oklahoma City. The Tony Award-winning musical, based on S.E. Hinton's Tulsa-set novel, runs through Sunday with performances Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 2 and 7:30 p.m., and Sunday at 1:30 and 7 p.m.

The Civic Center Music Hall has performance and ticket information for the Oklahoma City engagement.

In Midwest City, MiracleCon 2026 offers a weekend built around gaming, cosplay and family fun at the Reed Conference Center. The convention runs Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and features video games, tournaments, a large board game library and cosplay contests.

Proceeds from MiracleCon support the Children's Health Foundation and Children's Miracle Network, combining a weekend gaming convention with fundraising for children's health programs.

Back in Oklahoma City Saturday night, Dueling Divas & Dazzling Duets VIII brings a different kind of competition to OK Cider Co., with performers competing while audience contributions help determine the winner.

From Rocklahoma and Rodeo Miami to The Outsiders and MiracleCon, the final weekend of August offers a little bit of everything across the state.
