
Those financing a political action committee to the tune of over three million dollars to oust three state supreme court justices only got one off the bench. Justice Yvonne Kauger wasn’t retained and will finish her term on January 25th. State Representative Jason Lowe, a Democrat and an attorney, contends judges should never be influenced by PACs. Kauger and other justices have questioned the constitutionality of recent cases, like the St. Isidore Virtual Catholic Charter School. The Judicial Nominating Commission will start vetting applicants and provide Governor Stitt with a list of three nominees for the job.
