Oklahoma Wind Damage Recovery Underway
Recovery efforts continue across the state following severe wind conditions that caused widespread disruptions over the weekend.
Emergency crews and utility workers are responding to damage as part of the ongoing Oklahoma wind damage recovery.
At the height of the storm Sunday, more than 25,000 customers lost power across the state.
Highways Reopen After Storm
The Oklahoma wind damage recovery also includes clearing major roadways that were closed due to fallen power lines and debris.
All lanes of Interstate 35 in Norman reopened early Monday after strong winds snapped power poles and dropped lines across the highway.
High winds also caused a semi-truck to overturn on Interstate 40 near El Reno, though traffic has since returned to normal.
Thousands Still Without Power
Utility crews with OG&E Energy Corp. continue working to restore service as part of the Oklahoma wind damage recovery.
As of Monday morning, about 8,500 power outages remain statewide.
Officials say the hardest-hit areas include Oklahoma County, Cleveland County, Canadian County, and Tulsa County.
