OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — A major statewide internet outage has disrupted much of Oklahoma’s state government operations, forcing many employees to work from home while officials scramble to restore service.
Network Down Across State Agencies
Numerous state offices went offline when the statewide network stopped working, halting online access to internal systems, email, and public services. The Office of Management and Enterprise Services (OMES) confirmed the outage but assured the public it was not the result of a cybersecurity breach.
“While the cause of the outage is still under investigation, we can confirm there is no indication of a data breach or compromise of state systems,” an OMES spokesperson said.
Impact on State Services
The outage is affecting agencies ranging from the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety to the Oklahoma Tax Commission. Citizens may experience delays in processing driver’s licenses, tax filings, and other essential services.
Officials have not given a timeline for restoration, raising concerns about how long the Oklahoma government network outage will continue to affect public access to services.
