The Stephanie Bice Senate decision has clarified the race to replace Oklahoma U.S. Senator Markwayne Mullin.

Explaining her choice, Bice said she remains focused on representing her current district in Congress.
“After prayerful consideration, I remain committed to serving the Fifth Congressional District, a place that I proudly call home,” Bice said.
“President Trump needs strong allies in the House and it is my honor to champion policies that better the lives of everyday Oklahomans. In the next few weeks I will file for re-election, and I’m excited to continue traveling across the district to share our strong America first agenda.”
Senate Race Still Taking Shape
The Stephanie Bice Senate decision comes after President Donald Trump nominated U.S. Senator Markwayne Mullin to lead the Department of Homeland Security, triggering a scramble among Oklahoma Republicans.
Reporting from The Hill notes that U.S. Representative Kevin Hern has already launched a campaign for the seat.
The Republican primary election is scheduled for June 16, with candidate filing set for April 1 through April 3.
