Oklahoma Still Ranks High in Religion, But Falling
A new report from the Pew Research Center shows that while Oklahoma continues to rank among the nation’s most religious states, devotion is declining steadily. Oklahoma is currently 10th in the nation for religious practice.
In 2007, 64% of Oklahomans reported attending church at least twice a month. That number has now fallen to 42%.
Nationwide Trend Reflected in Oklahoma
The decline mirrors a broader national trend of shrinking religious devotion, though Oklahoma still remains more devout than most states.
