ODOT Seeks Public Input on Future Passenger and Freight Rail Service
Virtual Meeting Opens Public Comment Period
Oklahomans are being invited to help shape the future of passenger and freight rail service across the state. The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) will host a virtual public meeting at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday to gather feedback for the State Rail Plan.
ODOT engineer Jared Schwennesen said public input plays a critical role in how rail priorities are set across Oklahoma.
Public Feedback Only Open Every Four Years
Officials say this comment window is only available once every four years, making this a rare opportunity for residents, businesses, and local governments to weigh in on rail improvements that impact economic development, public transportation, and freight movement.
Survey Open Through January 31
The public comment survey and full project details are available on ODOT’s website through January 31. Input collected will help guide future rail infrastructure investment and long-term transportation planning.
