State Senate Pro Tem Greg Treat is upbeat about the passage of the elimination of the state portion of the grocery sales tax. Treat says Governor Stitt has five days to sign the bill, which has a moratorium for cities and counties on sales tax increases until June of next year.
House Speaker Charles McCall says it is critical of the state senate for not passing the bill with urgency. Treat says it gives businesses and the state tax commission time to get adjusted to the changes.
