Former Oklahoma DHS Supervisor Arrested On Child Sex Abuse Charges

**A former Oklahoma Department of Human Services employee is facing multiple felony charges after a former Oklahoma DHS supervisor arrested investigation alleged he sexually abused a young boy who had been placed under his supervision. Oklahoma City police say they are also investigating whether additional victims may have been abused during the suspect's time with the agency.

Authorities arrested 38-year-old Myron McKinney on Monday. He has been charged with six counts of lewd acts with a child under 16 and is being held in the Oklahoma County Jail on a $250,000 bond.

Investigators say the allegations surfaced years after the abuse allegedly occurred, when the victim disclosed the incidents to his mother, who contacted police.

Former Oklahoma DHS Supervisor Arrested After Child Reports Years Of Abuse

According to court documents, the former Oklahoma DHS supervisor arrested in the case was assigned to supervise the child's family for approximately 10 months while employed by the Oklahoma Department of Human Services.

Police say the relationship continued even after the child was reunited with his family.

Investigators allege the boy, who was about 10 years old when the overnight visits began, regularly stayed at McKinney's home on weekends and attended family gatherings with him.

According to court records, the victim told investigators he was groomed over time and alleged McKinney forced him to sleep naked in the same bed before bribing him with toys, video games, and other gifts in exchange for sexual acts.

Master Sgt. Gary Knight with the Oklahoma City Police Department said investigators believe many of the alleged incidents occurred after the child had already returned to his family.

Court records for criminal cases can be accessed through the Oklahoma State Courts Network (OSCN).

Police Investigating Whether Other Victims Exist

Investigators say the former Oklahoma DHS supervisor arrested may have had contact with numerous children during his employment, prompting detectives to determine whether additional victims exist.

Master Sgt. Knight said whenever investigators identify a suspect who worked closely with children over an extended period, they routinely examine whether similar crimes may have occurred involving others.

Following McKinney's arrest, the Oklahoma Department of Human Services released a statement calling the allegations "sickening" and confirmed his employment ended following an internal investigation.

Joe Dorman, Chief Executive Officer of the Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy, said the case highlights the importance of reporting suspected abuse and following mandatory reporting laws designed to protect children.

Information about Oklahoma's child abuse reporting requirements is available through the Oklahoma Department of Human Services Child Welfare Services.

Authorities Urge Anyone With Information To Contact Police

The investigation remains active as detectives continue reviewing the suspect's previous assignments and contacts while employed with DHS.

Authorities are asking anyone who believes they or their child may have had inappropriate contact with McKinney to immediately contact the Oklahoma City Police Department or call 911.

Police emphasize that reporting information—even years after an alleged incident—can play a critical role in protecting other potential victims and supporting ongoing investigations.

Resources for reporting suspected child abuse and neglect are also available through the Oklahoma Child Abuse Hotline Information.

The former Oklahoma DHS supervisor arrested case remains under investigation, and police say additional charges are possible if more victims come forward.
