Marietta and Piedmont schools are the latest districts in the state to cancel classes because of the number of illnesses among students and staff. Marrietta will be closed today for a second straight day and Piedmont will close all site on Thursday and Friday due to illness. Piedmont district officials say there are unable to maintain normal operation because of the high number of staff absences. The sooner state is ranked second in the nation for the number of flu cases.
