Budget gives No funding to NOAA Weather Reseach

A newly released budget proposes giving no funding the NOAA weather research programs and weather laboratories which include tornado and severe storm research. This means the National Weather Service in Norman could be shuttered along with other offices across the country. Oklahoma U. S. Senator James Lankford says he will be closely monitoring the agency’s budget request as it makes its way through the appropriation process.
