BROKEN ARROW, Okla. Broken Arrow Public Schools has rolled out a new school bus tracking app, My Ride K-12, designed to give parents real-time updates on their child’s bus location and arrival times. The technology is debuting this school year as part of a pilot program for elementary students.

How the App Works

With My Ride K-12, parents and guardians can use their phone, tablet, or computer to:

  • Check the live location of their child’s school bus

  • See estimated arrival times for home pickup and school drop-off

  • Receive updates if a bus is delayed or rerouted

District officials say the system is intended to improve both safety and convenience for families.

“Parents want to know where their kids are, especially when buses run late due to traffic or weather,”

a district spokesperson said. “This tool gives them peace of mind.”

Why Broken Arrow is Introducing the App

School leaders say the app is part of an effort to modernize transportation services and improve communication with parents. The pilot program will run for elementary routes first, with plans to expand to middle and high school routes in the future.

The district is also exploring additional features for upcoming updates, including:

  • Push notifications for late arrivals

  • Secure student ID scanning when boarding and exiting buses

  • Integration with district-wide communication alerts

What’s Next for Parents

Parents of participating elementary students can sign up for My Ride K-12 through the district’s website. Once registered, they will receive login details and instructions for downloading the app.

District officials will monitor the pilot program’s performance throughout the school year, gathering feedback from parents and drivers before expanding the system.

“We believe this is the next step in making our transportation system more efficient and parent-friendly,”

the district’s transportation director said.
