Oklahoma ranks 2nd in the nation for the number of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons. A bill to put tribal liaisons at work with OSBI agents and take over state funding of a unit that focuses on MMIP cases was vetoed by the Governor. An effort to get enough votes to override that veto is now underway. During the legislative process, the bill received only one no vote.
