Top 10 Oklahoma High School Football Players to Watch in 2026

Oklahoma high school football returns this fall with some of the nation's most highly recruited prospects taking the field across the state.

The top 10 Oklahoma high school football players entering the 2026 season include five-star recruits, major college commits, state champions and athletes already drawing national attention. Players from Jenks, Choctaw, Broken Bow, Yukon, Washington, Owasso, Broken Arrow, Bixby and Mustang made Oklahoma's Own Sports' preseason list.

Several already know where they'll play college football, with commitments to programs including Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Notre Dame, Florida, Penn State and TCU.

Here are the 10 players Oklahoma football fans will want to know before Friday night lights return.

Top 10 Oklahoma High School Football Players: Nos. 10-7

No. 10 – Kailib Dillard, Jenks – Florida

Jenks senior Kailib Dillard is a two-way standout at wide receiver and safety. During the 2025 season, Dillard caught 71 passes for more than 1,200 yards and 15 touchdowns while also recording 78 tackles, five interceptions and a forced fumble.

Dillard committed to Florida in May after considering Georgia and Oregon and is expected to play safety for the Gators.

No. 9 – Titus Hawk, Choctaw – Notre Dame

Choctaw tight end Titus Hawk enters his final season as a Notre Dame commit.

Hawk is one of two Choctaw players on the list and will have one more opportunity to help the Yellowjackets pursue a Class 6A-II state championship before heading to South Bend.

No. 8 – Greydon Howell, Broken Bow – Oklahoma

Broken Bow's Greydon Howell has taken an unusual path to becoming one of Oklahoma's best football prospects. Howell didn't play football as a freshman, but three years later he's a four-star Oklahoma Sooners commit.

As a junior, Howell accounted for 27 touchdowns while throwing for more than 2,800 yards and rushing for more than 1,500. OU plans to move the current quarterback and safety to wide receiver when he arrives in Norman.

No. 7 – Izzy Hammons, Choctaw – Oklahoma State

Choctaw linebacker Izzy Hammons will stay in Oklahoma after high school, committing to Oklahoma State.

His size, athleticism and ability to play multiple positions helped make him a college prospect. Before heading to Stillwater, Hammons and teammate Titus Hawk will try to lead Choctaw on a run toward the 6A-II title.

No. 6 – Daniel Yebit, Yukon – TCU

Yukon's Daniel Yebit plays both wide receiver and cornerback and is committed to TCU.

Yebit caught 43 passes for 760 yards and six touchdowns in 2025 while adding 37 tackles and four interceptions on defense. The Cameroon native grew up playing soccer and didn't begin playing football until seventh grade. TCU projects him as a defensive back.

No. 5 – Case Alexander, Washington – Penn State

Washington's Case Alexander produced on both sides of the ball last season, catching 26 passes for 697 yards and 12 touchdowns at tight end while recording 10 tackles for loss and five sacks at linebacker.

Football runs in the family. His father, Stephen Alexander, starred at Oklahoma before playing in the NFL. Case will continue his career at Penn State, where he'll join his brother Cooper.

No. 4 – Kamieon Compton-Nero, Owasso – Uncommitted

One of the youngest players on the list may also become one of the most heavily recruited.

Kamieon Compton-Nero is a 2028 prospect who already holds offers from programs including Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Notre Dame and Michigan.

After helping Rejoice Christian win back-to-back Class A state championships, Compton-Nero moved to Owasso and is transitioning from quarterback to wide receiver offensively while projecting as a safety at the college level.

Oklahoma Commits Take Two of the Top Three Spots

No. 3 – Semaj Stanford, Broken Arrow – Oregon

Broken Arrow safety Semaj Stanford enters his senior season committed to Oregon.

The four-star prospect recorded 109 tackles and five interceptions as a junior, returning two interceptions for touchdowns. He also scored 11 touchdowns offensively.

His biggest remaining goal at Broken Arrow is simple: win a state championship before heading to Eugene.

No. 2 – Kaeden Penny, Bixby – Oklahoma

Bixby offensive lineman Kaeden Penny is one of the nation's premier offensive line prospects and has committed to Oklahoma.

Penny starts at left tackle for the Spartans and has an opportunity to win a state championship in each of his three seasons as a varsity starter. He plans to enroll at OU in January.

No. 1 – Gabriel Osborne Jr., Mustang – Oklahoma

At the top of the list is Mustang five-star cornerback Gabriel Osborne Jr.

Osborne was recruited by some of college football's biggest programs, including Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, LSU, Miami and Texas, but chose to stay home and commit to Oklahoma.

His combination of speed, length, physicality and explosiveness has made Osborne a game-changing presence in Mustang's secondary and one of the country's most coveted defensive prospects.

Osborne will play one final season for Mustang before joining Brent Venables and the Oklahoma Sooners in Norman.

With Oklahoma high school football preparing for another season, these 10 players give fans across the state plenty of reasons to keep an eye on Friday nights — and on the future of college football.
