Wilson, OK — The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) says the fire chief of Wilson and his wife are facing serious allegations after being accused of embezzling $380,000 from local insurance clients.
Curtiss and Kilby Nipp, both licensed insurance agents, are alleged to have collected premium payments from customers without properly applying them to their insurance policies. Investigators say this resulted in multiple lapsed policies, leaving several clients unknowingly uninsured.
The couple has lived and worked in Wilson since 2020, and Curtiss Nipp currently serves as the city's fire chief.
“This case involves a significant breach of public trust,” an OSBI spokesperson said.
The investigation is ongoing. Formal charges are expected, and the case may expand as more potential victims come forward.
