University Of Tulsa Tuition Cut Lowers Annual Cost To $25,000
The University of Tulsa tuition cut will reduce published undergraduate tuition and required fees by more than half beginning in Fall 2027, a move university leaders say will make the cost of a private college education easier to understand and more affordable for students.
Starting with the incoming Fall 2027 freshman class, The University of Tulsa will lower its published annual tuition and required fees from approximately $54,000 to $25,000. The new rate will be guaranteed for four years for first-time, full-time undergraduate students, giving families predictable college costs throughout a student's degree program.
University Of Tulsa Tuition Cut Begins In Fall 2027
University officials say the new tuition model is designed to better reflect what many students already pay after scholarships and financial aid while making the admissions process more transparent.
Under the new plan, first-time, full-time undergraduate students enrolling in Fall 2027 will pay $25,000 per year in tuition and required fees for four consecutive years, regardless of future tuition increases.
The announcement published by The University of Tulsa notes the tuition guarantee applies only to undergraduate students and does not include graduate programs, the College of Law or online degree programs.
University President Stacy Leeds said the institution's philanthropic support and corporate partnerships will continue allowing many students to pay significantly less through merit- and need-based financial aid.
University Says Lower Sticker Price Removes Barriers
University leaders say the initiative is intended to remove one of the biggest obstacles facing prospective students—a high published tuition price that may discourage families from applying before learning about available financial aid.
Officials emphasized that the tuition reduction will not change the university's academic offerings, research opportunities, NCAA Division I athletics or small class sizes.
The university also expects the new pricing model to attract more students to Tulsa, with many graduates choosing to remain in Oklahoma after completing their degrees.
Information about admissions, scholarships and the new tuition structure is available through the University of Tulsa Office of Admission, which will begin implementing the program for students entering in Fall 2027.
Scholarships Could Lower Costs Even Further
While the published tuition will be set at $25,000, many students are expected to pay considerably less after scholarships and financial assistance are applied.
University officials say need-based aid, merit scholarships and donor-supported programs will continue reducing out-of-pocket costs for qualifying students.
The University of Tulsa Financial Aid Office says students should continue completing financial aid applications because scholarship eligibility will remain an important part of the university's affordability strategy.
The new tuition model represents one of the largest pricing changes in the university's history and reflects a broader effort to make private higher education more predictable, transparent and accessible for Oklahoma students.
