District Launches Investigation

A Tishomingo Public Schools teacher has been placed on leave while the district investigates allegations of improper electronic communication with a student. School officials say parents were notified after the district learned one of its middle or high school teachers may have violated Oklahoma laws regarding teacher-student communication.

District Response

Superintendent Bobby Waitman said the teacher’s name is being withheld pending the outcome of the investigation. The district has contacted law enforcement and says it will cooperate fully with any criminal or administrative review.

Parents were reminded that teachers are prohibited from engaging in private or inappropriate conversations with students through personal social media or messaging apps.

Tishomingo Community Reaction

The school board says it is committed to transparency and student safety. Officials ask parents to discuss appropriate online communication with their children and to report any concerns immediately to school administrators.
