Perryman Addresses Tinker Base Suicide Investigation
During questioning before the Senate Armed Services Committee, Master Chief Petty Officer, John Perryman spoke about the ongoing Tinker Base suicide investigation.
Perryman says, " a new report is pending on the incidents but so far no commonalities have been identified for the string of suicides."
Mental Health Concerns and Response
The Tinker Base suicide investigation has raised concerns about access to care for service members.
In response, the Navy says additional resources, including embedded counselors and chaplain teams, have been deployed to support the unit.
The group operates the E-6B Mercury aircraft, often referred to as the “Doomsday Plane,” and includes more than 1,000 personnel.
Anyone in crisis is urged to call 988, the national mental health lifeline. Service members can press 1 to reach the Military Crisis Line.
