Oklahomans looking for something to do this weekend have plenty of options, from one of the state's longest-running music festivals to hot air balloons, antique markets, car shows and community celebrations.
Things to do in Oklahoma this weekend include the 46th Annual Bluegrass & Chili Festival in Tahlequah, the Centennial Route 66 Balloon Festival in Kellyville and JUNKLAHOMA in Piedmont. Many events are free and run Friday through Sunday, September 11 through 13.

Things to Do in Oklahoma This Weekend Include Bluegrass, Balloons and Festivals
The 46th Annual Bluegrass & Chili Festival takes over downtown Tahlequah Friday and Saturday with free admission, nationally known musicians, food and the festival's signature chili cook-off.
Friday's grounds are open from 2 to 10 p.m., with performances including Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder and the U.S. Navy Band Country Current. Saturday's festival begins at 10 a.m., with Rhonda Vincent & The Rage among the performers. The chili cook-off runs Saturday, with public tasting kits going on sale at 4 p.m.
Visitors can also check out the Festival Street Market, car and motorcycle show and family activities at the Kiddie Korral. Lawn chairs are encouraged, but coolers are not permitted.

In Kellyville, the Centennial Route 66 Balloon Festival runs Friday through Sunday at the Creek County Fairgrounds. The weekend features more than a dozen hot air balloons along with tethered balloon rides, helicopter rides, a giant kite show, food trucks and vendors.
Admission is $20 for adults and $10 for children, with free parking.
Friday also includes a two-hour acrylic painting class beginning at 5 p.m. Participants will paint a Highland cow beneath hot air balloons. The class costs $40 in addition to festival admission.

Vintage Markets, Craft Shows and Community Events Fill Saturday Schedule
Saturday brings several free shopping and community events across the state.
Piedmont Founders Day featuring JUNKLAHOMA runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in downtown Piedmont. The event combines a large vintage and flea market with Founders Day activities, including a community parade and children's attractions. Vendors offer antiques, repurposed furniture, vintage finds and boutique merchandise.
In Stillwater, the Fall into the Holidays Craft Show runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Payne County Expo Center. Admission and parking are free, with more than 100 vendor booths featuring holiday décor, jewelry, candles, handmade items and customized gifts.
Oklahoma City shoppers can head to 3 Strands Vintage Antique Mall for the Fall in Love with Vintage Outdoor Market from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Outdoor vendors will offer antique furniture, clothing, vintage pieces and home décor, while the mall hosts sales indoors.
The Tulsa Farmers' Market is also open Saturday from 7 to 11 a.m. at 1 South Lewis Avenue. Shoppers can browse produce, local honey, eggs, meats, handmade products and other items from Oklahoma farmers and artisans.

Car Shows, Cultural Celebrations and Family Events Round Out Oklahoma Weekend
The weekend also offers several smaller community events stretching from Oklahoma City to northeastern and southern Oklahoma.
CRUISE! The Plaza is scheduled from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday in Oklahoma City's Plaza District. Classic cars, hot rods, muscle cars and custom vehicles will line the district while visitors explore nearby galleries, shops and restaurants. The event is free.
In Commerce, the 6th Annual Dia Del Grito Festival begins at 6 p.m. Saturday in the Hitch N Post parking lot downtown following the Tri-City Car Show. The free celebration includes music, arts and crafts vendors, a tamale-making contest and salsa competition.
Lindsay's Ole Fashion Gathering & Tractor Show begins at noon Saturday on Main Street in Lindsay. The free community event includes tractor and lawn mower races, tug-of-war, craft booths, food vendors and live music.
Families in the Edmond area can close out the weekend Sunday at the Oak Hills Community Block Party, scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. at Oak Hills Church. The free event includes food, inflatables, a petting zoo and face painting.
