Special Election Needed After Burns Pleads Guilty
A special runoff election is set for January 13 to determine the Republican nominee for House District 35. The seat became vacant after former Representative Ty Burns resigned and later pleaded guilty to domestic abuse charges.
Two Republicans Advance; Democrat Awaits Challenger
Dillon Travis and Mike Waters advanced to the runoff and will compete for the nomination. The winner will face Democrat Luke Kruse on February 10.
The district covers portions of Creek, Noble, Osage, Pawnee, and Payne counties.
