Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis is growing his base in Oklahoma.
A news release from the campaign says that 20 Oklahoma legislators have officially endorsed the Florida governor for president. Oklahoma House majority floor leader Jon Echols is the most prominent name on the list.
Echols said that America needs a two-term president to “unwind the constitutional and disastrous policies out of Washington.” The campaign points to new polling showing its candidate in a virtual tie with Donald Trump in Iowa.
