The PSO Oologah expansion and proposed rate plan

Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) filed with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission to expand its Oologah generation and purchase existing wind output. To fund the plan, PSO is requesting a $10 monthly increase on customer bills.

Why PSO rate increase is on the table

  • Demand outlook: PSO projects Tulsa-area demand will exceed available supply by 2027.

  • Grid stability: Added firm capacity plus wind purchases aim to improve reliability and resource adequacy.

  • Process: Regulators will review costs, customer impact, and need before any approval. Consumer groups are expected to weigh in.

PSO says the investments prepare the grid for load growth from industry, population gains, and increasingly power-hungry technology.
