Petition for Minimum Wage Increase Moves Across State

Backers of a minimum wage increase receive the go-ahead from the State Secretary of State to collect signatures on an initiative petition that could lead to a statewide vote on the issue. Proponents must gather just over 92 thousand signatures of registered voters within 90 days. State Question 832 would require employers to pay 9 dollars an hour beginning in 2025, then $10.50 by 2026, moving up to 12 dollars per hour in 2027, and jumping to 15 dollars per hour in 2027.
