Admiral Greg Slavonic has been the interim director since March. He took over the state agency after the previous director, Joel Kintsel, was fired.
Slavonic’s work so far was praised at Monday’s meeting, and a motion was made to remove the “interim” from his title. The positive vote drew applause from the staff and members of the public in that audience.
