Operation Robocall Roundup Targets Major Telecom Providers
Oklahoma is part of a bipartisan, multi-state campaign known as Operation Robocall Roundup, an effort aimed at forcing phone companies to comply with federal consumer-protection rules after years of rising scam calls across the U.S.
The initiative began in August, when Attorney General Gentner Drummond joined several states to investigate and file actions against phone providers accused of allowing or enabling fraudulent robocalls.

States Say Companies Ignored Warning Signs
The crackdown focuses on four large telecom providers, each accused of transmitting high-volume scam calls that defraud consumers—particularly elderly and low-income households. The multi-state group argues these companies either ignored federal regulations, failed to implement required call-verification technology, or directly profited from routing high-risk traffic.
Oklahoma officials say robocall scams remain one of the state’s most frequent consumer complaints, especially those targeting Medicare recipients, utility customers, or financial scams impersonating government agencies.
