The housing shortage for low-income families isn’t going to get better anytime soon.
The Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency, which handles federal section eight housing payments, has stopped taking new applications. The agency reports it is unable to keep up with the over 1100 new requests for housing assistance every month. The waitlist is now three years long.
