Oklahoma Early Voting Begins As Voters Head To Polls For Primary Election

Oklahoma early voting is officially underway as polls open across the state for one of the busiest primary election cycles in recent years, featuring races for governor, lieutenant governor, legislative seats, and the closely watched State Question 832.

Voters have three opportunities to cast their ballots before Election Day on June 16, giving Oklahomans additional flexibility to avoid long lines and scheduling conflicts.

Election officials are encouraging residents to take advantage of Oklahoma early voting by confirming their polling locations, reviewing sample ballots, and making sure they bring an acceptable form of identification before arriving at the polls.

With several high-profile races and ballot measures on the ticket, turnout is expected to be strong during both the early voting period and on Primary Election Day.

Oklahoma Early Voting Locations And Hours

Oklahoma early voting is available at designated county election board offices and approved satellite locations throughout the state.

In Oklahoma County, voters can cast their ballots at the county election board office on North Lincoln Boulevard near Northeast 36th Street. Canadian County residents can vote early at the Canadian Valley Technology Center Campus on Czech Hall Road in Yukon, while Cleveland County voters have six different locations available for early voting.

The three-day early voting schedule is:

  • Thursday, June 11: 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

  • Friday, June 12: 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

  • Saturday, June 13: 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

After the early voting period concludes, in-person voting will resume on Election Day, Tuesday, June 16, with polling places open statewide from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Voters can locate their assigned polling place and view county-specific information through the Oklahoma State Election Board Voter Portal.

Oklahoma Early Voting Includes Governor's Race And State Question 832

The Oklahoma early voting period covers a ballot packed with statewide and local races.

Republican and Democratic primary voters will help determine nominees for Governor of Oklahoma, Lieutenant Governor, as well as races for U.S. Congress, the Oklahoma Legislature, and other state and local offices.

In addition to candidate races, voters will decide the fate of State Question 832, the proposed measure that would gradually increase Oklahoma's minimum wage and expand coverage under the state's wage laws.

Election officials encourage voters to review a sample ballot before heading to the polls so they can familiarize themselves with the races and questions that will appear based on their address and party affiliation.

Sample ballots and election information are available through the Oklahoma State Election Board Official Website.

What Oklahoma Early Voting Voters Need To Bring

Before participating in Oklahoma early voting, residents should make sure they have an acceptable form of identification as required under state law.

Voters may verify their identity by presenting a valid photo identification card, an official county election board voter identification card, or by signing an affidavit and casting a provisional ballot if they do not have one of the first two forms of ID available.

Election officials recommend checking voter registration information and polling locations before leaving home to help make the voting process as smooth as possible.

For those choosing not to vote early, all regular polling locations across Oklahoma will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16.

Additional information regarding voter registration, identification requirements, and polling place locations can be found through the National Association of Secretaries of State Can I Vote Resource.

As Oklahoma early voting gets underway, election officials are reminding residents that casting a ballot early is a convenient way to participate in the democratic process and avoid potential crowds on Election Day.
