The Oklahoma Department of Human Services says the state needs 600 new foster families to help thousands of children in care as the holiday season approaches.
Currently, nearly 6,000 children are in the system, and DHS says the shortage is putting significant stress on existing families and services.

Families interested in fostering can contact DHS directly to begin the application process. Officials emphasized the importance of community support to ensure every child has a safe, stable home.
