Oklahoma City I-40 Road Rage Shooting: Suspect Arrested After Driver Narrowly Escapes Bullets
Oklahoma City police arrested 28-year-old Aster Cooper after a road rage shooting on Interstate 40 left another driver's vehicle riddled with bullets. The shooting happened Tuesday afternoon, October 6, on westbound I-40 near Eastern Avenue in Oklahoma City.
The Oklahoma City I-40 road rage shooting involved 23-year-old Jaedon Dejear, who was driving home from the library when a traffic confrontation escalated into gunfire. Despite multiple bullets striking his vehicle, Dejear escaped without physical injuries.

Dejear said a black Honda HR-V began tailgating him before both vehicles attempted to change lanes and nearly collided. The other driver allegedly pulled alongside Dejear, began yelling and fired multiple shots into his vehicle.
Investigators documented approximately six to seven bullet holes, including damage to the passenger door, headrests and driver's side window.
One bullet narrowly missed Dejear's head after he ducked to avoid the gunfire.
Flock Cameras Help Police Track Down Suspect
Investigators with the okc.gov handle serious assault cases, including shootings involving firearms discharged from vehicles.
Police used Flock license plate reader cameras, surveillance footage and the department's Real-Time Information Center to identify the suspect's vehicle.
Officers located Cooper at his residence and arrested him outside the home. A handgun believed to have been used in the shooting was also recovered.

Cooper was booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center following his arrest.
