A newly established Oklahoma bird sanctuary is trying to save the life of Roger the emu, who was recently rescued in critical condition. The bird was discovered underweight, covered in lice, with a broken leg and what appeared to be a gunshot wound.

Fundraising for Surgery

The sanctuary has launched a GoFundMe campaign to cover the cost of Roger’s surgery and medical care. Organizers say the community response will determine whether Roger has a chance to fully recover.
