CHICKASHA, Okla. — The Chickasha City Council has approved plans to build tiny homes on a vacant lot, part of a push to add more affordable housing to the city.

Details of the Project

The one-bedroom, one-bathroom homes will rent for $700 per month. A local non-profit will oversee construction and leasing.

Why It Matters

City leaders say affordable housing remains one of the most pressing issues in Chickasha, with many residents priced out of larger rental units or traditional homes.

Timeline for Home Development

Groundbreaking is expected in the coming weeks, with applications for tenants to open soon after.
