OKC Crisis Nursery fraud charges detailed in lawsuit
OKC Crisis Nursery fraud charges have been filed against the nonprofit’s director following a civil lawsuit from the state.
Attorney General Gentner Drummond alleges Jennifer Roberts diverted more than $35,000 in charitable donations for personal use between 2021 and 2023.
The OKC Crisis Nursery, also known as the OK Crisis Nursery Foundation, has served families and children in crisis across Oklahoma City.
OKC Crisis Nursery fraud charges include luxury spending
The OKC Crisis Nursery fraud charges claim funds were used for Botox, lip injections, nail salons, tanning salons, and spa services.
Investigators also allege Roberts spent $13,500 on a Nissan Sentra, along with additional expenses for repairs and insurance, as reported by KOKH News.
Donations were also allegedly used for high-end dining, travel, sporting goods, and designer shoes.
Oversight failures tied to OKC Crisis Nursery fraud charges
The OKC Crisis Nursery fraud charges also point to major organizational failures.
The Attorney General says there was no functioning board of directors, and the nonprofit lost its 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status in 2024 after failing to file required returns.
The facility’s childcare license was also revoked by Oklahoma Human Services in late 2025.
State officials are now seeking dissolution of the nonprofit and a permanent ban on Roberts serving in any charitable leadership role, as outlined in Oklahoma Attorney General lawsuit filing.
