muskogee pulls the plug on a bond issue

Muskogee leaders postponed a proposed 77-million-dollar bond issue that was to have gone before voters next month. The proposal included building a new police and fire station along with other capital improvements. The bond would have lasted 25 years. City Council member Derrick Reed says the bond issue would have addressed the issues facing an aging city.
