Oklahoma’s growing black vulture population is prompting the state Agriculture Department to double the number of raptors that can be killed or captured by livestock producers. The birds are federally protected but because of increasing attacks by the vultures especially on newborn animals the number livestock producers can kill was increased to 10. Producers must get a free permit from the Ag department.
