Senator James Lankford is pushing to reduce the passport backlog at the U.S. State Department. The demand due to extreme delays in getting passports to travel abroad is causing him to make changes in his office.
Lankford tells CBS that he is proposing new legislation that would improve online passport tracking, allow the state department to hire more staff, and limit turnaround time to 12 weeks.
