Illegal Marijuana Operation Raid Leads To Fentanyl Seizure, Multiple Arrests In Oklahoma

Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond says his Organized Crime Task Force continues targeting illegal marijuana businesses after raids in northeast Oklahoma led to multiple arrests and the seizure of drugs ranging from marijuana to more than 1,000 fentanyl pills.

The illegal marijuana operation investigation resulted in searches at businesses in Bristow and Tulsa, where investigators say they uncovered evidence of unlawful marijuana sales, illegal THC products and large quantities of narcotics. The operation was conducted with assistance from the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority and local law enforcement agencies.

Illegal Marijuana Operation Targeted In Bristow

Investigators searched Dank Dispensary, Ontrac Express and a nearby residence in Bristow after receiving reports of suspected illegal activity.

According to the Oklahoma Attorney General's Office, investigators believe the dispensary sold marijuana to individuals without valid identification or an Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority patient card. Authorities also allege the convenience store sold THC products, including marijuana pre-rolls, in violation of state law.

Agents seized processed marijuana and other marijuana products during the searches, and two people were arrested at the dispensary. Details of the investigation were released by the Attorney General's Office at https://www.oag.ok.gov.

Tulsa Search Uncovers Fentanyl And Other Drugs

The investigation also led agents to Black Purple Kush Dispensary in Tulsa after the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority reported suspicious pills discovered during a routine inventory inspection.

According to investigators, agents seized more than 1,000 fentanyl pills, along with heroin, ecstasy, cocaine and 118 pounds of processed marijuana.

Authorities arrested dispensary owner Terrance Lewis, who has been charged with trafficking fentanyl, possession of drug proceeds, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Court records related to the case can be tracked through the Oklahoma State Courts Network at https://www.oscn.net.

Drummond Says Illegal Operations Remain A Priority

Drummond said his office will continue targeting businesses operating outside Oklahoma's medical marijuana laws.

"My office will continue to aggressively combat those who are conducting illegal business in the medical marijuana industry," Drummond said. "My Organized Crime Task Force continues to locate and shut down illegal operations nearly every day all across Oklahoma."

House Speaker Kyle Hilbert, whose district includes Bristow, praised the operation, saying it demonstrates Oklahoma's continued commitment to cracking down on illegal marijuana businesses and drug trafficking organizations.

The Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority continues working with state and local agencies to investigate businesses suspected of violating Oklahoma's medical marijuana laws. Information about licensed dispensaries and state regulations is available through the agency at https://omma.ok.gov.

As with all criminal cases, the allegations remain accusations until proven in court.
