Multi-Agency Operation Targets Human Trafficking
A coordinated human trafficking operation in eastern Oklahoma has led to multiple arrests and the recovery of victims, according to law enforcement officials.
The operation was conducted by the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service in partnership with the District 27 District Attorney’s Office, which serves Adair, Cherokee, Sequoyah, and Wagoner counties.
Arrests Made, Victims Recovered
Authorities say seven individuals were arrested for buying sex during the operation. In addition, three trafficking victims were recovered.
Law enforcement officials also located four children under the age of 19, who were placed into the custody of the Department of Human Services for protection and care.
Investigations Ongoing
Officials say the operation focused on both enforcement and victim safety. Investigators continue to follow up on information gathered during the bust, and additional charges or arrests may follow.
Authorities say the case highlights continued efforts across Oklahoma to combat human trafficking and protect vulnerable individuals.
