heat advisory is in effect

A heat advisory is in effect for much of the western two-thirds of the state. Heat index values of up to 110 degrees are expected for the next couple of days. The high temperature coupled with the humidity may cause heat illnesses. Experts say drink plenty of fluids, stay in the air conditioning or shaded areas and check up on relatives and neighbors. If you must be outdoors, wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing and try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening.
