More Than 200 Hail-Damage Lawsuits Move Forward Against State Farm

Homeowners Claim Widespread Underpayment

Hearings continue in Oklahoma County Court on more than 200 lawsuits filed against State Farm, the state’s largest writer of homeowner insurance policies. Homeowners allege the company systematically underpaid hail damage claims or denied legitimate roof-related claims altogether.

The original reporting comes from Oklahoma Watch, which has been following the litigation closely.

Court Orders Release of Internal Documents

Attorneys for homeowners successfully argued for the release of internal State Farm documents, which they say show a pre-determined strategy to minimize payouts on roof claims.

According to filings, some homeowners were offered only a few thousand dollars for roof damage estimated at tens of thousands.

State Farm Begins Settling Select Cases

While the company denies wrongdoing, several cases have already moved toward settlement reported by Oklahoma Watch exceeded $3 million, reflecting the scope of potential liability.

Additional hearings are expected to continue into 2026 as more cases move through the system.
