Grady County animal cruelty arrests made after dogs found malnourished

Three people are facing felony charges after a Grady County animal cruelty investigation uncovered dozens of dogs living in what deputies described as inhumane conditions near Rush Springs.

The arrests happened Tuesday after the Grady County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of possible animal neglect at a rural property.

Investigators say they found nearly 20 dogs suffering from severe neglect, lack of food, and unsafe living conditions.

Grady County animal cruelty investigation reveals severe neglect

According to investigators, the Grady County animal cruelty investigation revealed multiple dogs in varying stages of malnourishment.

Deputies reported the animals had little to no access to food and that the only water available on the property was warm and contaminated with algae.

Authorities also say several dogs were chained up or confined inside kennels throughout the property.

One dog was reportedly discovered dead inside a small cage.

Animal cruelty felony cases in Oklahoma are investigated through local law enforcement agencies such as the Grady County Sheriff’s Office.

Three Rush Springs residents arrested on felony charges

The Grady County animal cruelty investigation led to the arrest of three Rush Springs residents.

Authorities identified the suspects as:

  • Dakota Williams

  • Susan Williams

  • Jamyson Powers

All three are currently being held at the Grady County Detention Center.

Each suspect faces multiple felony counts tied to alleged animal cruelty and abuse.

Additional concerns reported at property

The Grady County animal cruelty investigation may continue expanding as investigators review additional information connected to the property.

Community members on social media have claimed an elderly woman was also living on the property inside a camper without running water or electricity.

However, authorities have not officially confirmed those reports as part of the current criminal case.

Criminal filings and felony charges connected to animal cruelty cases are processed through the Grady County court system.

Investigation remains ongoing

Officials say the Grady County animal cruelty investigation remains active as deputies continue gathering evidence and evaluating the condition of the surviving animals.

Additional updates could be released as prosecutors review the case and formal court proceedings move forward.
