Former Choctaw Police Officers Investigation Began With Parent's Complaint

The former Choctaw police officers investigation began on March 26, 2026, after Oklahoma County Sheriff Tommie Johnson III notified Choctaw Police Chief Kelly Marshall that a parent had filed a complaint involving two officers.

According to the department, both officers were intercepted and placed on administrative leave within approximately 15 minutes of reporting for duty that day.

The investigation later resulted in the resignation of Officer Geoffrey Owen on May 21 after approximately 18 months with the department.

On June 5, Lieutenant Austin Jacox, a six-year veteran of the Choctaw Police Department, was terminated for what officials described as serious violations of department policies and the agency's code of conduct.

Chief Marshall confirmed on July 1 that both men were no longer employed by the department, allowing the criminal investigation to proceed independently.

Court Documents Detail Allegations Against Former Officers

According to affidavits filed by the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office, the investigation began after the teenager's mother reviewed her daughter's cellphone and tablet and allegedly discovered explicit communications.

Investigators allege Austin Jacox first contacted the minor through Facebook Messenger before moving conversations to text messaging. Court documents state those conversations allegedly became sexual in nature and included explicit photographs.

Investigators further allege Geoffrey Owen later invited the teenager to his residence, where court documents claim he placed her inside his marked patrol vehicle while discussing handcuffs.

According to investigators, when the teenager attempted to leave the patrol vehicle, Owen allegedly adjusted the mirrors inward, limiting her visibility and preventing her from easily seeing outside the vehicle.

Court records further state the teenager told investigators she never represented herself as an adult and feared retaliation because both men were law enforcement officers.
