One of the leading causes of death of inmates in the Oklahoma County Jail is fentanyl overdose. Far more lives could have been lost if not for the drug, Narcan. Radio Oklahoma’s Bob Sands provides the details.


Despite new efforts to catch smugglers, five inmates in the Oklahoma county jail recently were treated for drug overdoses. Most commonly, these cases involved fentanyl.

Over the last year, overdose interventions saved the lives of 130 inmates.
