It’s worth it if it helps the kids. In Tulsa, fifth-grade teacher Allie Diaz is giving up some of her Christmas Break to take part in an eight-day tutoring program aimed at helping students improve their reading.
About 300 students from the district’s at-risk schools are taking part. The program is funded by a grant from the State Department of Education.
